Centering Practice: Gentle Yoga for Stress Relief

Chair Yoga (45 Minutes)

Join Diane Frea, RYT-200, for a 45-minute session of mindful movement. We'll breathe, bend and stretch from a seated position, with the option of moving to standing for chair-assisted poses. Suitable for all levels of yoga experience and especially helpful for those with mobility or balance challenges. This series can help you learn techniques to use while seated for long periods of time in the office or at home. It also can help build confidence to participate in mat-based classes.

(Note that attendance will require using one set of stairs.)

Gentle Myofascial Yoga (45 Minutes)

A gentle, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing class to ease tension and allow the day to wind down. We will practice Pranayama (breathing techniques), a gentle yoga flow, myofascial rolling, and long-held restorative poses. Class is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience.

Gong Bath and Meditation for Grounding (60 Minutes)

This class will include meditation, breathwork, and a gong bath. The gong activates the parasympathetic nervous system (also known as the “rest and digest” system), nourishing us energetically, reducing stress and soothing the sympathetic “fight or flight” nervous system.

Gong Nidra (Yogic Sleep: A Guided Meditation) (75 Minutes)

Yoga Nidra (psychic sleep) is the art of conscious relaxation. It is a powerful practice liberating the body & mind from usual tensions & anxiety. We learn how to put the body into sleep mode while the mind remains fully awake. The brain wave drops into theta state, where deep levels of healing take place.

Grief Yoga: Movement & Meditation  (90 Minutes)

Are you experiencing waves of grief due to significant loss in your life? Grief is a difficult path to navigate, especially alone. This compassionate yoga practice is intended to support a broken heart. This practice emotionally supports you when you are grieving a loss whether it is the death of a loved one, including a beloved pet; a miscarriage; a life change due to illness, trauma, break up, divorce, job loss, and much more. This practice is a journey that integrates breath, movement, meditation, and sound. We will stretch, express emotions with sound, connect to our hearts, feel, move, be witnessed, and release.

Inner Child Healing Meditation  (60 Minutes)

This workshop is designed to provide healing from early childhood attachment wounds.  You will connect with you inner child to provide love and acceptance. This mindfulness exercise utilizes guided imagery, breath work, and meditation to nurture the child within.

Intro to Yoga

Come enjoy 75 minutes of mindful movement where you will stretch and strengthen your body and prepare for poses to totally relax and ease the stress from your mind and body. We will flow through some classic yoga poses focusing on breath and body alignment  as well as work on balance and total body relaxation. This practice is for all levels.

Introduction to Writing for Wellness and Health (60 Minutes)

In this workshop, you will be introduced to six kinds of writing that can help you tell your story and begin to change the story. Participants will work on two short writing exercises that introduce this method of writing.  You do not have to be a writer to attend this workshop.  You will not be asked to read your writing, but we will talk about the experience of writing (sharing optional).  The session will include a brief period of meditation and breathing.

Partner Meditation to Eliminate Fear & Gong Bath

This is designed for partners that have a desire to remove fear that can be a barrier in their relationship. This powerful meditation includes a ritual to witness each other’s struggle in order to connect with love.  This also includes healing sounds and vibrations of the gong instrument.  No prior yoga experience necessary.

Rest & Recovery Meditation

Take 30 minutes for yourself and unwind with guided imagery and relaxation. This workshop provides restorative healing to recover from the week so you can heal and enjoy your weekend.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a powerful antidote to stress because it down-regulates the sympathetic nervous system and up-regulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for rest, digestion, energy conservation and slowing the heart rate. Different from sleep, which involves REM brain states during which dreams can trigger stress, conscious rest is designed to activate the alpha and theta wave states, which are associated with deep relaxation and meditation.

Techniques to Calm Down and Improve Sleep

Do you have a hard time falling asleep due to a busy mind? Or do you wake in during the night, unable to fall back asleep? We will practice some gentle stretches and poses to soothe the nervous system, practice breath techniques and a meditation to calm down the mind chatter.

Yoga & Meditation to Reduce Stress & Promote Well Being for Pre Teens

This class will utilize mediation, yoga poses, music, art, breath work and guided imagery to help your preteen be in the present moment while improving emotional regulation and acceptance of self and others.

Yoga & Meditation for Self Love and Forgiveness

Movement and Meditation from Kundalini yoga tradition to enhance self love.  This practices offers a message to provide forgiveness to self and others.

Writing for Wellness and Health - Mindful Writing (75 Minutes)

In this workshop participants will be introduced to the six A's of mindful writing.  We will begin with a discussion of self care for the writer and a brief meditation.  Participants will work with the six A's as nouns, verbs, and statements as they write about an event or issue with their own health and wellness.  Writing in this way can begin to reshape a story that we have held onto and help us change the story. This method is based on the work of James Pennebaker and John Evans and has been widely used in healthcare.
