Chuck Wint, LICSW
Chuck is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who received his Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Alabama in 1988. He has worked in a variety of mental health and substance abuse settings over the past 40 years which has allowed him to form breadth of understanding around the wide variety of issues that impact people’s lives. He provides creative programs, counseling, and interventions for fraternities, athletes, and young adults. Chuck is a seasoned counselor who has worked extensively with individuals and couples to reclaim direction and purpose for their lives. Like all of the counselors at Lifeline, he is trained in EMDR therapy for treating trauma, grief and loss. He has 25 years of experience in working with addictions, recovery, and the impact substance abuse has on families. Chuck has also provided supervision for those seeking social work licensure. Chuck embodies the free spirit of someone who has a clear vision and mission for helping others in the community. His efforts are always focused on taking care of people regardless of their circumstances. Anyone can talk to Chuck, as he is open-minded, always interested, and freely available. Chuck enjoys playing guitar, watching movies, listening to music, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He will be a strong advocate who truly cares for your best interests, and he will help you to achieve your goals.
Erin Hinz, LPC- S
Erin is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received her Master's degree in Counseling from The University of Alabama in 1999. She also is an approved Supervising Counselor trained to provide supervision to counselors seeking licensure. Erin has over 20 years of experience in mental health and addiction counseling and is experienced in working with individuals of all ages and family systems. She has extensive training in trauma, addictions, and eating disorders. Her passion for helping others is shown in her commitment and willingness to extend herself to individuals in times of crisis. She is trained in EMDR and Mindfulness and utilizes these techniques with those who have experienced trauma and other life events that have affected their beliefs about themselves negatively. Her work is reflective of her heart for guiding others on their path toward serenity, acceptance, and fulfillment. Erin enjoys cooking, watching sports, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. When working with Erin, you will feel heard and understood. She will walk alongside you as you work to navigate through the issues you have been struggling to resolve.
Melanie Childers, LPC
Melanie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Alabama in 2015 with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has over 5 years of experience working with those who struggle with addiction and with couples and families. She is trained in EMDR therapy has experience in working with people in the LGBTQ+ community. She will guide you as you embark on your journey to become your best self, find meaning in your life, and strengthen your abilities to cope with hardships. Melanie enjoys playing guitar, spending time with her pets and friends, and creating artwork.
Wendi Hogue, LPC, NCC
Wendi is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor who received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Montevallo in 2012. She has over seven years of experience working with adults, couples and adolescents addressing a wide array of issues. Wendi is passionate about helping people find their way by discovering their inner strength to overcome obstacles, so that they will learn to have a fuller, healthier life. Each of us have had experiences that have shaped us, they affect how we respond to others, how we express and manage anger, how we communicate, and, most importantly, how we view and value ourselves. In exploring these experiences and developing healthier coping skills, we can have the relationships we want, achieve our personal goals, and discover the life we are seeking and meant to live.
Sara Beth Lovelady, LICSW
Sara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her master's degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. She has over 6 years of experience in working with men and women whose lives have been impacted by substance abuse and mental health issues. She consistently utilizes person-centered therapy (PCT) and Mindfulness techniques in her work with clients, but also has experience in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She is trained in EMDR and uses this approach in sessions with those whose lives have been impacted by trauma. She works with a variety of ages, but maintains a special focus in empowering young adults as they forge their own paths towards a life of fulfillment and acceptance. Sara is a strong advocate and is committed to walking alongside each of her clients as they navigate the intricacies of what makes us human and discover that they worthy of healing and capable of creating authentic change. She believes in the power and worth of the individual and that through collaboration, trust and compassion, each of us can realize our value to this world. Deb Walker, LICSW
Deb is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in 2009. She has 20 plus years experience working with adults, children and teens in various mental health settings. Her past work has included medical social work, clinical social work with children, adolescents and adults, as well as advocacy for severely mentally ill patients. Deb has also provided clinical social work in the field of addictions providing care in an intensive outpatient setting working with adults. She utilizes a Person-Centered therapy approach, building trust/rapport and she will meet her clients where they are without judgement. She understands the struggle to manage and regain a balance in life. She has a strong belief that problems do not need to be faced alone. Deb is eager to join with her clients in getting back to a place of mastery over their own life, in spite of any level of discomfort and dysfunction. When she is not working Deb enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as cooking.
Theresa Sprain Hickman, LICSW
Theresa is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who received her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. She has over three years of experience working with individuals and families whose lives have been affected by mental health and substance abuse issues. Theresa practices an approach to healing that is relational and holistic. She engages a strengths-based and client-centered approach to therapy focused on cultivating intrinsic strengths and developing adaptive coping strategies. She frequently utilizes Person Centered Therapy, Mindfulness practice, and Insight-oriented Therapy drawing upon evidenced-based interventions and healing philosophies. She is also trained in EMDR and finds this therapy beneficial for treating trauma and a range of other issues. Theresa understands that the human experience is dynamic and develops a specialized treatment plan with each of her clients to meet their needs. The foundation of her holistic approach is rooted in the mind-body-spirit connection to optimize personal health and healing. She values identifying and dissolving barriers to discover our meaning within ourselves and the world, creating authentic change. Meg is an Associate Licensed Counselor and a Functional Medicine Health Coach. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northern Illinois University and her coaching certification at Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. Meg offers a safe, client-centered, nonjudgmental space. Understanding each person comes with their unique concerns and individuality, she offers a combined approach to helping you heal and reach your goals. In addition to addressing emotions, thoughts, and beliefs which affect mental and physical health, she also offers the opportunity to also explore influencing lifestyle factors at play. Pulling from the areas of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, she will assist you in creating a toolkit that helps you overcome barriers and live a flourishing and purposeful life. She is honored and humbled to walk alongside this journey with you. Outside of work, Meg enjoys time with her family and friends, as well as running, writing, being in nature, and engaging and learning about holistic health and self-growth.
Holly Prewitt, LICSW
Holly is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in 2008. She is also approved to provide supervision to social workers seeking the LICSW license. Holly has 19 years of experience in mental health counseling. She has experience working with late adolescents/young adults, adults, and families in various mental health settings. Holly has worked in settings providing substance abuse counseling, counseling to individuals experiencing adjustment to new situations and counseling for the unexpected situations that occur along our journey in life. Holly also has experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and a new medical or mental health diagnosis. Holly has experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and is pursuing Gottman Method training to further her abilities to reach couples in need of counseling. Holly meets individuals where they are in their circumstance to increase their ability to cope with and overcome life’s obstacles. Holly understands and appreciates the connection of mind, body, spirit and religious beliefs. Holly’s mission for counseling is to be there when clients need her, and provide the support they need until they feel certain they can move forward. Outside of work, Holly enjoys the time she has with her family. Some family favorites are baseball, seafood, music, any water activities and sports, beaching and time with our sweet Boston Terrier, Sox.
Jonathan Tyler, LICSW
Jonathan Tyler is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who received his master's degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in 2014. Jonathan has over 9 years of experience working with inpatient substance abuse patients as well as working with families of patients with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Jonathan has experience utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and strength-based approaches to help individuals reach their goals. Jonathan is passionate about working with people to aid them in achieving their full potential and develop coping skills to meet life's ever-changing demands. Jonathan enjoys exercise, spending time with family and attending The University of Alabama sporting events.
